Apply online and then attend one of our orientations (see Calendar ). Attendance at an orientation is required for membership in Valley Time Trade. At an orientation you will learn about the philosophy and history of the timebanking movement, how our timebank is organized, use of the software to post offers and requests, and how to get started as a new member. It’s a chance to get all of your questions answered. Bring your laptop if you would like to get practice using the timebank software. An RSVP is not necessary but please arrive on time.  Plan to spend between an hour and an hour and a half.

If you are able to provide a location with wi-fi access and at least 4 people interested in joining VTT we may be able to provide an orientation at your site.

Please contact us at membership AT valleytimetrade.org if you will not be able to attend a scheduled orientation (see the calendar for listings) over the next month, or if you want more general information.  Membership in Valley Time Trade is open to people of all ages and abilities. VTT honors the rich diversity of our members’ backgrounds, understandings, skills and services. All members must attend an orientation, complete necessary online enrollment forms and sign required online agreements. Failure to follow the policies, procedures and Code of Ethics can be grounds for loss of membership.

Members Under 18 Years Old
Young people are welcome and encouraged to join Valley Time Trade. They must complete the member information form and attend a member orientation. They must also have a parent or guardian sign the Member Acknowledgment and Agreement and provide contact information (email, phone, and street address). We encourage the parent or guardian to also attend the orientation and become members. Age restrictions may apply with some services, but children are invited to join with their parent’s written permission.

Organizations
Organizations can join Valley Time Trade as well. Organizations can spend “hours” by asking people to help with mailings, setting up, cleaning up, preparing for an event, helping at an event and more. Organizations can earn hours in many different ways: by giving an hour of  the service that you provide, a performance, an hour of computer instruction, a ticket to an event, space for VTT orientations or meetings – the possibilities are unlimited. Organizations can get in touch with us at info AT valleytimetrade.org to talk about possibilities, or fill out an organizational membership application, and view the organizational member handbook.
